📎 AI Summary:
The user experiences system freezes and BSOD errors on Windows 7 RC with an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro, especially when drivers are installed. A responder mentions that ATI cards and drivers often have compatibility issues with Windows 7, suggesting Nvidia cards may work better. The user then questions if upgrading the video card is the only solution, as the problem persists with an ATI 9800Pro, and has recently encountered BSODs related to the video driver. Sorry my bad English.

I have Windows 7 RC 32-bit (build 7100) and very old ATI Radeon 9600 Pro video card.

When I start Win7 I can do something small like open the web browser (sometimes more, sometimes less), but after a while the Win7 freezes completely. Mouse don't move.. Only change is restart button.

When I delete the video card drivers computer works perfect. I tried the ATIs lastest drivers for Vista but these didn't install.

I need drivers to play games. Can somebody help me? :)

It has been reported that some ATI Video cards (and drivers) don't work well in Windows 7. Nvidia cards and drivers appear to behave much better. I'm not saying that is the solution but trouble has been more likely with ATI Cards.
