📎 AI Summary:
This WindowsForum thread discusses a user experiencing issues with their system's startup configuration, specifically that the msconfig setting remains at "selective" boot mode even after changes and a reboot. The user has disabled all startup items and suspects UEFI settings might influence this, but others clarify that UEFI typically does not affect Windows boot configuration. Overall, the discussion concludes that the persistent "selective" mode is not a major concern, especially since only Windows Defender and native firewall are in use, and the user considers it an intriguing puzzle.

I was going to perform a clean boot and typed msconfig only to find my settings already at selective not normal. I changed it but after a reboot it again was selective.

Solution
UEFI wouldn't affect Windows configuration. It could be due to third party services. I wouldn't worry to much about it not being on normal

I did apply then save. All my startup items are disabled.
I had this built so have written the builder to see what it should be. Perhaps he has something in the UEFI configured.
My reading say it should be normal yet all I can do says selective.

Thanks, I won't worry. I don't have any 3rd party apps as I run only Windows native firewall and Defender.
It is a puzzle at the every least.
