I installed 8 last Friday, been trying to get my music library to show up in the "Music" app for a week now.

I've changed ownership and permissions to my current 8 username.
It's in as the ONLY library folder for music
All my music is in WMP

Nothing will show up in the app, just says "It's lonely here"

Any help?

My music is on a separate HDD, as a test I created a folder on the C drive. I added a song, then added that folder to my library and sure enough the music showed up.

So the music has to be on the same drive or drive letter. Awesome.

Microsoft strikes again!

Use the approved method to change the pointer to the music files. I put all my data to a separate partition. When I installed Win 8 I had to change the pointers of all my Data in Win 8 to my Data partition where all my data is located, including music.

MS broke nothing, you just have to tell the OS where to look for your data.

Are you sure you included the right folders as part of the Music library? If it is any consolation, WMP is still in Windows 8, albeit hidden, yet quite use able. I find it much more preferable at this time.
