📎 AI Summary:
The thread discusses installing Windows on a RAID 1 array. The original poster asks whether they need to move their existing system or perform a fresh install, and how to do so on a dynamic partition. Respondents advise installing Windows normally and selecting the RAID 1 array during installation, noting that Windows cannot be installed directly onto a dynamic partition and that the RAID setup needs to be recognized via the install media through hardware or firmware. The overall tone is technical and solution-oriented.

Hi. I have two 160gb hdd and I wanted to install windows in a raid 1 configuration with those drives. I have windows 10 currently installed in a third 320gb hdd and already transformed the other two into a single raid 1 partition. How do I install windows in the raid 1? Do I have to move the system to that partition or do I have to install it from scratch into it? If it's the second option, how could I install windows in a dynamic partition? thanks

Install it like normal and select the RAID 1. Windows can't be installed on a dynamic partition since that is a feature of Windows itself

From the install media. It can't be a raid defined in Windows. Hardware raid or firmware emulated.
