Windows 7 Mouse and Keyboard

I tried to install Win 7 it stopped and told me I must remove the keyboard file and the mouse file and then go on with the install. However if I do that I have no way of controlling my computer. I am lost on what to do. I have the file for the Win 7 keyboard and mouse upgrade but as long as I in Vista it will not upgrade. Can anyone help me???

Most keyboards and mice will function without any special drivers for them. Do you have any special drivers you have added? What kind of keyboard and mouse do you have?
