Hi there,

I just recently experienced this issue with my laptop. Funny thing is, I actually already have vista installed on my laptop and running smoothly, until this happened. I can't seem to get my desktop back. I do have the mouse pointer, and it does move, but no desktop. Even booting up to safe mode to check the problem, but still went to the same thing. Any help would be gladly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi!! I've heard alot of different things that can cause a black screen. Mainly though, a driver problem- Vista is always about graphics and what not. Perhaps a video card is overheating. Sincerely, Celestra

I agree, it could be driver related.. If you can get into safe mode, try and replace the graphics driver.
