📎 AI Summary:
The thread discusses the availability of Windows 8.1.1 ISO files. The original poster initially believed they were to be publicly released but later confirmed that the ISO files are only accessible through VLSC, not the general public, with official distribution limited to MSDN/TechNet subscriptions. The overall sentiment indicates a correction of misinformation, emphasizing that Windows 8.1.1 ISOs are not freely available to everyone.

MS is supposed to release Win 8.1.1 ISO to the general public... snip

Where did you hear that from? I would be surprised if Microsoft did this because they appear to be pushing their new image (wimboot) system instead… having said that, it's not like they have never gone back on their word before.

The only place I know that you can get the ISO for 8.1.1 or any version of windows 8 is from MSDN/Technet with a subscription.
