Whilst I'm very positive so far with W7 apart from some networking issues on the X-64 version there are a few things that to me seem a total waste of time -- each to their own but it would be interesting to see what irritates / frustrates users most with W7.
1) The Diagnose Network connection...
Using Windows Server 2008 to manange my network with XP SP/3 clients, i was able to create in the domain GPO mappings to auto map drives when a user logged in based on what OU the pc belonged to, who the user was, and / or what Security group the user belonged to.

I'm new to installing multiple versions of Windows on my PC. I have a 500GB and a 250GB hard drive installed. I was thinking about making a 120GB partition from my 250 and dual booting. I have tried to make the partition in advance with Vista's Disk Management console in the Administrator Tools...

I still have the old nice MS game Midtown Madness 2. Now it works perfectly on XP even though it's thought to be used on Win98. I tried it on VIsta but it doesn't really work. At least not that much that it's fun to play. So I'm gonna test it on Win7 when I get the BETA. I'll write details here...
before i start, let me say that i have never used Vista. in fact, i have never even seen a computer running Vista. i love my XP. it's old enough and stable enough that it can be hacked and customized to a very great extent, and i have it set up to look and work exactly how i want it to. the main...

Humm,
a first of sorts. A no minute no day Final Release. You will find this at Speedfans Web Site under downloads. As I understand it some new chip sets or set added and some tweaks and thats it. So much for beta testing.
I can see I am already disagreeing with a couple of the views, unfortunately that includes Paul Thurrot.. When I read his blog, I almost felt that I had been given a different release.
If you want to do it for the experiment, then good luck. You will get nothing out of M3 that you cannot get in...

So, do you think that the reason that Microsoft is keeping quiet about Windows 7 is because they don't want people to get excited, see it in beta for 1 or 2 years, and when it comes out, there so bored that they bash it, like with Windows Vista. So, think they prefer the Apple approach, where...

Hi guys,
When recently browsing the web, I came across this: http://www.joejoe.org/forum/index.php?s=f7dda7865865f48f994ae44494cb4e4d&showforum=59
First off, I need to tell a bit of history. Back in 2002, Microsoft started work on the next version of Windows, so called "Longhorn". This...
