In a twist that no one saw coming (but really should have), the eagerly anticipated modern context menu in Windows 11 appears to have tripped and fallen into the same cluttered abyss that plagued its Windows 10 predecessor. Recent updates have stacked options like "Edit with Paint" outside the...
I am very new to Windows 11 and One Drive (like 3 days!). I have discovered that on my desktop I have two folders called Pictures. In properties one has a location as C:\Users\t***\OneDrive\Desktop, the other C:\Users\t***\OneDrive\Desktop. and of course in One Drive there is...
I want to reinstall Win 8 so that the many trials I've installed and various other 'experiments' I've tried can be removed (completely!).
I want to reinstall Win 8 onto a new SSD drive and add a second hard drive that wasn't part of the original hardware. All other hardware would be the same...
Hello :)
I was trying to remove some clutter from my Windows7, like a lot of stuff i don't use with Windows live and Internet Explorer 9, Tablet PC components and multimedia and so on. But when I got to activate or deactivate windows functionalities and tick the box to remove it it will start...
I just upgraded to Win 7 and noticed that they have removed the installed date from the list of programs to "uninstall".
The installed date was very handy, for as you know if you download something you always get a lot of stuff you didn't want. Sorting the list by date made easy to unclutter...

can i delete this thing? is it just all the Win7 crap left over? its a good 7 gb. just wondering. i hate having clutter and bloat.
Got too many icons cluttering your Windows 7 taskbar? That's definitely a possibility these days, especially now that Internet Explorer 9 lets you pin your favorite sites there.

Over time, having moved once and having add and removed computers from my home network, along with other changes, I now have a cluttered Printer Selection Window, by which I mean the window that pops up when I want to print a document. I have five versions of a Brother printer and four versions...
Lately I've noticed two identical appearing icons on my desktop, entitled desktop.ini.
Do I need these. I'm trying to reduce the clutter.
One says last modified 8/8/10 and the other 6/26/10.
When I start to delete it, it says it is a system file.
Can I delete it?

With XP I had a number of folders on my desktop, simply to contain icons for similar functions and reduce the desktop clutter. These folders were just a single window, which could be set to any size, with a title and an address bar at the top and a status bar at the bottom, and the only things...
Hi, I have a problem with my network folders for my dad's pc. His pc is what I primarily use to download software and such so I just network his folder so that I can gain access to downloaded files w/o going through other medias such as a flash drive etc.
Problem is that when a file is recently...
This is going to be rather complicated to explain but here goes my best attempt... I have the OS installed on the C drive. I have all of the documents mapped to a seperate but still internal E drive. I have done this with both XP and Vista and there have been no problems.

a improvement over this?
This Vista/7 version seems very cluttered and easily able to be lost in while, the Xp and down version is all there and easily switchable between tabs.
And is there any way to change back to the Xp styled one in Windows 7?
Just a Question -- Has anybody been able to "replicate" the old XP Power toy where you could have 4 virtual desktops
Linux has had this feature for AGES and is not only restricted to 4 but I'd be quite happy with 4.
I've added this as a suggestion to MS both via feedback and by direct...
