I read that Edge is windows PDF reader not Chrome, however, I just received a PDF file which I clicked on and it opened with no trouble.
I have no extension to do this. I vaguely saw something about Reader DC and am wondering if I downloaded it but cannot find anything like that.

Starting last night, Google Chrome was taking longer than usual to open webpages. Now under an hour ago, other applications and files take up to 10 seconds to open. My laptop is running fine now because I restarted. I ran CCleaner to clean out my history, cookies, etc. I also ran scans with...

Windows 7 Startup folder allows you to open a file when starting the computer, but I seldom shut off my computer. Instead, I would like a file to open every time I put in the password to bring it out of sleep mode. Is that possible?

I got no hits searching in this forum for the term "DMP"
A certain program -- Roxio VideoWave12 -- is associated with several dumps located in . . . \Appdata\Local\CrashDumps. They have names, e.g., VideoWave12.exe.2300.dmp , and are from 18+ to 20+ million bytes in size. I Googled on "dmp"...
I am unable to open any .pps extention in widows 7 live mail even though I have 2007 power point viewer in the default associated programs. I can only open if I save to desktop first.
I apologize for the fairly skimpy information I'm able to supply, but this is coming from a friend who is not too savvy with computers.
Prior to a few days ago, when she opened a .pdf attachment sent in an email, it opened fine. Now, when she tries opening a .pdf file, she gets a couple of...
Windows Explorer is not minimizing when I open a file, and that same file opens correctly when I open it within the program.
But the issue extends with other files. For example when an external drive connects to my laptop the dialog box message (AutoPlay) goes to my taskbar DIRECTLY.

About 98% of the time, when I double click on a file (video, photo, mp3, etc) the app opens under the current window.
Rarely it opens on top like I'm used to.
Never had this issue with XP, it always opened the app on top of whatever else was open and maximized at the time...
