I've been using IME to type in Japanese, but I'm having a weird problem with it. It will run on startup fine, (I've seen the ctfmon.exe thing, and I have it running) but the IME panel disappears any time I bring focus to any application other than the taskbar/start menu. It used to work fine...

I'm trying to get my computer to recognizing Japanese and Korean. When I first got this new laptop with Windows 7 I downloaded the language packs and everything was working fine. But today my computer suddenly stopped reading both languages and instead I get little squares that kind of look like...

I recently bought a new netbook that came with Windows 7 Starter installed. I want to be able to type in Chinese and Japanese. Is that something that the Starter edition can do or do I need the full version? Also is it even advisable to install full Windows 7 on a netbook?
Thanks.
For some reason I can't install the Japanese Language Pack. Has anyone successfully installed it? I keep getting this error code: 80070643. I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
Edit: Never mind, a reboot did the trick. Not sure what was causing it to fail earlier but oh well.

In MS's description of the differences between the versions of Windows 7, under the Ultimate version they say, "switch between any of 35 languages", and suggest that if you need language capability use should use the "Ultimate" version.

On all my computer, i install the included language packs (mainly keyboard layouts, but more than that comes with it) for Spanish, French, and recently, Japanese, when I decide i want to try writing / practice in the few japanese kanji and hiragana that I know. :D
In win 7, however, it seems...
