Am having problems with Wireless connections in W7 which are sometimes not showing a signal etc., but when I use a Linux live cd, there is never a problem, so is this an issue with the W7 default wireless manager?
Is there a setting somehere that needs to be adjusted?
Every since Windows 8 has been leaked , a bunch of new features have been found. One of the features is called " Portable Workspace Creator ". This new feature allows you to run a bootable copy of Windows 8, just like you could with a Linux live CD. The storage device for the portable workspace...
Recently I installed Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit on our client Acer 5742G, the PC is brand new, and we have a problem, when we try to shutdown, it`s going smooth, longing out, saving settings, shutdown, but after the "shutdown" (power off), it`s back to power on again and continuing to load...
Hello,
I got an extremely peculiar thing going on. I had windows vista 64 bit on my machine and it kept booting to BSOD so I decided to re-install. I fired up my windows vista DVD and much to my dismay, neither the keyboard nor the mouse were responsive. I tested 2 separate keyboards both are...
Okay...I've seen several tutorials/info on dual booting, but usually it's only one hard drive. What I want to do is install 2 OS on 2 different HDDs.
My first idea was to install Debian and Win7 on the same 500GB HDD (which is now my secondary hard drive). But since then, I had taken it to the...

Basically while I was running Windows 7 I wanted to clone my 149GB Hard Drive to a 500GB partition on my 1TB HardDrive, with Ubuntu taking up the other 500GB.

This tutorial describes how to install Windows XP and Windows 7 on the same partition (first tutorial for one partition written).
The short concept: Install XP twice and have 7 replace the first installation.
Warning! Tested once. Need more testers to confirm it works for everyone and the...

I recently fixed an Acer laptop for a friend of mine. The disk was almost full, and the registry was corrupted - this laptop was running VISTA - so this problem may be a part of both vista and 7.
The registry was no hope for, so I used a Linux live CD to copy some files (backup) to an external...

I am trying to boot GParted Live CD from the .iso file I burned to a cd. I have went in and changed my BIOS settings and it still won't boot to the cd, so therefore I can't figure out a way to partition my hard drive. I do have two hard drives though, the main C drive I wanted to install Windows...

I've just loaded it up, early days yet but using it atm to browse and post here using Firefox.
My favourite distro, previously, had been Suse 10.2 but I think I may be a convert to this one.
A single CD ISO download, took me 45 minutes to download.
Has everything you...
