So I was working with moving my My Documents folder from syncing with Dropbox to Box and I messed up a bit. Well, at least I've found it and have access to it. Now I'm working on restoring a previous version.
Problem A: It's hidden and I can't figure out how to undo that because:

Hi,
We are building an 2 application that connect to 127.0.0.1:30303.
They are used to send data from app A to app B, acting as a local p2p connection.
On windows XP, everything runs as it should. On windows 7 it doesn't work anymore.
We've tried turning off the firewalls, opening ports...
"connection to localhost:9312 failed (errno=111, msg=Connection refused)"
Why am I getting this error when I use the search box at the top of the forum pages?
In one of my tools (and in many other utilities out there) there is the option to specify a certain computer (in the local LAN) by computername.
So I tell the tool: Connect to remote computer "maggie" on port 1521 in LAN and do something....
Unfortunately the tool is not able to find...

I have installed Apache 2.2. Service is running but "http://localhost/" (and http://127.0.0.1/") returns "not found".
Any ideas?
ping localhost shows no IP address.
nslookup localhost shows address 127.0.0.1
Thanks
Hey folks.
I would like to know how you can redirect an external IP to localhost. Im trying to emulate the server for a simple program one of my friends coded in C++ (or something). It is basicly a login and register system, upon registering the program sends a HTTP request to the server (it...

I just got a new computer with Windows 7 and installed IIS, including support for ASP. I am running everything locally on my computer. A simple statement like <% response.write time() %> works fine, so ASP is working, However, when I try to run a page that accesses a database (at least...

Ok, I've searched far and wide (mostly in forums relating to WAMP and APACHE), but I suspect this is related to Win7, so I thought I'd try here.
I've used WAMP for several years, with several vhosts set up on development machines using WinXP, then Vista, and now Win7. This *same* setup worked...

Hi
I am using Windows 7 with a router connected to the internet.
On my main PC, which is connected to the router with a LAN cable, I have a couple of sites that I can not access. It gives me a Connection Reset in all browsers.
The curious thing is that all the other computers, connected to...

Hi
I switched from Xp to Windows 7 Pro. Since then I noticed when I run my website(asp.net mvc) in local host it goes so so slow(I mean like 10 to 20seconds per page).
This should not be. I then tested it with sloppy to mimic a user of 256kb and it loads up alot faster(maybe 2-3seconds at...
Does anyone know exactly why the localhost entry in the hosts file has been commented out? From the comment in the file I guess they mean to use DNS for localhost resolution instead but I was just curious as to what the reasoning behind that is.
Hey there
I cannot access my Link Removed, it comes up with nothing in firefox, and "404 Page Not Found" in IE. I have looked at the C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc/hosts file or whatever, it has the lines:
127.0.0.1 localhost
::1 localhost
So I don't know why it doesn't show anything. Yes...
First off, I'm new on these boards, and if this is a wrong board or anything, just tell me.
So anyway, I'm someone who likes to script for websites. I've set IIS website port to 22004 and it's also portforwarded.
Now when I connect to Link Removed, I get my website. If I do it with my local...
Ok, I've Googled this quite a bit to no end.
I purchased two Dell machines over the past year - one was a laptop, another was a new XPS desktop. Both came with Vista installed.
Before, with my machines that were running XP, I was running WAMP just fine.
On Vista, Apache stops working...
When I am away from home I often have no access to the Internet. But it never used to matter because my laptop was XP and I used localhost/hosts/127.0.01 and virtual hosts in Apache to work on the train whilst travelling etc with my website development stuff.
Until I installed Vista Ultimate...
