Microsoft’s long‑running UI mismatch — the glaring white or legacy‑colored copy/move progress window that interrupted Dark Mode sessions for years — is finally being updated in Insider builds, and enthusiasts have noticed a small but symbolic tweak: the familiar green progress bar is being...
For months, Windows 11’s visual subtleties have spurred debate within its ever-vocal user base, but few would have predicted that a seemingly minor shade adjustment in File Explorer’s disk space bars could spark such fervor. Yet, when a darker blue hue rolled out to Insider builds, the minor...

File Explorer in Windows 11 is finally learning how to dress for the occasion. For years, Microsoft’s premium file navigation tool has been the jeans-and-t-shirt kind of utility—functional, familiar, but without much flair. Now, with its latest refresh, File Explorer is rifling through its...

New member here, first post. Would like some help/advice with the above.
The update downloads, and installs to the restart required.
Restart first displays the "working on updates" blue-screen, but at 6% progress, commences to close and reboot. (Normally this reaches the 30% progress point??)...

When I Copy a file from another computer on the n/w the copying becomes slow. I can see the progress bar almost stopped for sometime. What can be the reason for this?
Having left Windows Update running for a day and a night - over 24 hours - it still displays "Checking for updates..." with the progress bar happily drifting from left to right.
I was advised (elsewhere to:

Several Previews ago, I had an app that wouldn't start (Solitaire HD). In past versions of Windows and earlier builds of Win10, I could use the old trick of uninstalling, then reinstalling. Things would be back to normal. So, that's what I tried to do.
That file got stuck in a queue that...
It looks like my Software isn't a Illegal Copy. What I did was go to Start, than Computer, than Activation. I seen a Code there and there is a in put area. The Code Input comes up, and you read in the Product Code. Press Next. If the code is a illegal Copy the Software will say so.

Hello everyone, Today my mediaplayer stopped working, and I decided to restart to see if that would fix the problem. When I shut down my PC it just kept hanging on "Shutting down" for 10 minutes so I forced a shutdown by holding the power button.
After booting up again however Windows 7...

I have been upgrading my Vista HP SP2 for the past 72 hours. It hung for many hours at different points but this is by far the worst. It is on the last segment, transferring files and programs and has been stuck on 72% for the past 48 hours! HDD LED is still flashing ( about 1 blink every 20...
On my new Win7 computer the screensaver is set to come on after 10 minutes, and Power Management is set to turn off the display after 15 minutes. I go away, come back in 2 hours, the desktop is still happily glowing. Gimme a break, how can something as basic as this not work?
But then I also...

I have downloaded SP1 for W7-x64 with Windows Update. It's trying to install now, but has been on "installing update 1 of 1" for over two hours at about 1/3 of the progress bar.
Is this a known issue? I have had problems installing other Windows updates too and hoped installing SP1 would fix...
