Hi,
I had Spyware on my XP, so I made a partition of my spare 10gbs, installed Win7, removed XP and all was good.
But then, upgrades and such expanded my Win7 to >9gb, so I wanted to increase the partition size.
Couldn't.
I go to the regular partition screen, I have 9,7gb of unused space...

Hi I'm using the windows 7 RC build 7100 and just recently my antivirus started picking up what it said was a spyware running using the svchost.exe and at the same time I lost part of the system which allows you to select options for windows and the like.
This is what it looks like:

I just upgraded from Vista 64bit HE to Windows 7 64bit HE and now my 32bit browsers (firefox, IE 32bit, even itunes) are not able to connect to the internet. All were working in Vista. The 64bit version of Internet Explorer will connect however. Any idea why this could be?

Hello boards,
Title says it in a nutshell. I had Spyware on my XP and it became inoperable to the point where it wouldn't even boot. I made a partition using Hirens BootCD on which I installed my new Win7, which has been great so far, only problem is my access to my old files is denied. I...
I upgraded to Windows 7 when it came out. So far I have been loving it and spent a good bit of last weekend getting everything set up and running properly. However, when I started playing games on the system I noticed a fairly large problem. Namely, that I was getting similar or worse...

I've been running Windows 7 build 7100 (d/l'ed from Microsoft.com) for about three weeks now and generally I'm happy with it. However, I do have one big snag that has been bugging me since I did the upgrade from Vista; anything that uses Explorer.exe is extremely slow to render.
If I click on...

Just a non-scientific poll on what people are using . Any specific reasons (like when Webroot delisted 180solutions) would be helpful. This does not include HJT, Autoruns, or CWShredder since they should be used by all anyway
Hi all
This to me seems a HUGE HUGE vulnerability in some current AV packages.
I've got an ISOLATED machine which I use sometimes for specific AV testing.
Anyway I decided to "Infect it" deliberately with some spyware and a key stroke trojan and then take an image of the system with...
I currently run Vista with Microsoft's Onecare Live for antivirus/spyware protection.
I've just installed Windows 7 RC on a separate partition, and of course Onecare Live won't work with Windows 7. Could anyone tell me (a) if I picked up a virus while using Windows 7 am I correct in thinking...
Hello Fellow Windows 7 Users:D
I have been running the Windows 7 now for 9 weeks and to tell the truth, I think that this could end up being the best Microsoft Release Candidate since Windows XP.
There are some bugs mainly being with the Virus/ Spyware Programs, they all seem to have one problem...

What are some good free programs that will remove ad aware, spy ware and malware off computers? Other than the usual stuff, like spy bot, Ad aware 2008, Ccleaner and etc. I found spywaredoctor from Goggle pack for free and it tends to find more than to others combined. Does any body else use...
Hi guys
Finding Drivers can usually be a real pain - especially if you get a yellow exclamation mark against "Unknown Device" or "Mass Storage controller".
You'll probably find it tempting to look at those programs that "Offer to fix your drivers Free" / "Scan your computer" etc etc -- they...
This thread is for those of us Mac users that happened to install a dual boot of Windows 7 Beta.
I'm all about trying out new stuff, and I also like to keep a working copy of windows with me.
My hope is that there are others out there like me trying out Windows 7 dual booted on a Mac.
I will...

Hi Guys
Be careful in using W7 WMP. There's a little legal "nasty" in that it says " Usage will be sent to Microsoft" plus some discalimer saying that "Information is only collected for "Statistical Purposes".
Whilst I don't believe in Microsoft "Conspoiracy" theories I just don't like the...
