I have outlook on my laptop...
Started having intermittent problems seeing devices on my network so i checked sharing options and discovered network discovery was turned off. I made the changes to turn discovery on then saved settings. I went back and discovered that the settings reverted back to turning discovery off. I...

Hi there. I was trying to figure out why my PC woke woke up from sleep and/or restarted. i ran the 'systeminfo' command and saw that the system boot time happened last night so it must have happened without my intervention. i then checked the event viewer and saw that a 'servicing' event...

Occasionally Win 10 downloads silently in background some security updates (on my v1903 system) and prepares them for installation on next reboot.
When I click on START Button (for shutdown or restart action) I can see an additional entry "Update and restart" with a red dot in the lower left...
I just purchased an HP laptop with a 128 GB M.2 SSD Hard Drive. Besides the original setup and adding some basic programs, I've done very little in a week.
But my C: Drive has already used 42% (only 69GB free) A further disk analysis shows that, of the total used, Windows has used 30%...

Assume I am sitting in front of an unknown/new computer which has a Wifi-chip on his motherboard.
How can I find out (from within Windows 7; not from manual) from which manufacturer this Wifi chip is (e.g.Intel)?
Is there a built-in info or do I need a 3rd party diagnostic tool?
Peter
Working on a new Windows Forum Diagnostic Tool and would like to know what features you guys would like to see. Basically right now the goal is just to duplicate what it already did.

Good morning! My name is Tamara. I just joined this Forum because I figured it would be a lot of help to me since I am in the process of taking my A+ certification. So I won't bore you with the boring details! But hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. Now, I don't know...
Assume I updated oocasionally my Win 7 system.
How can I find out which of the many Win 7 Spectre, Meltdown and Spectre NG updates are currently locally installed?

Pardon the length; I'll try hard to keep it short as possible. I know there is a lot on the internet concerning genuine Windows 7 64 OS suddenly being flagged as not valid. I tried a number of ideas postulated on the web but I still can't get it to work. Now to be honest this issue has been...

After an auto-update (I think Windows) I get a BSOD after entering my password. Message: system service exception. I can start the computer in safe mode. Searched threads but could not find the fix.
I kindly would like to ask your advice or help in solving this.
Best regards,
Hans

I bought a new laptop, I removed Windows 8 and I installed Windows 7.
I have 128 GB SSD, Operation System in it. I got BSOD 4 times, everytime same crash address (ntoskrnl.exe+76e80). Sometimes it also comes when booting Windows. I used Avira before but uninstalling it did not help.

I am running a 64bit Win7 Pro system and installed in the past a lot of additional drivers (e.g. a pdf printer driver). Unfortunately I did not remember if I installed the 32bit or the 64bit driver version of these additional drivers). As far as I now 32bit driver could work as well under 64bit...
