I have a brand new Toshiba Qosmio portable computer with Windows 7 pre-installed in the "C" (=the only hard) drive.
I wanted to create an "E" drive and partition, so in Disk Management I focused the largest partition and selected "Shrink Drive". As a result, I got 208,26 GB of unallocated...

The problem I'm having is this. I want to install it using a RAID 0 confiuration. I have created my Raid 0 Drive using GRAID option on my Gigabyte GA-965P-S3 Motherboard.

I got a new Dell Win7 computer with 640 GB hard drive.
But free space for C-Partition in the new computer is now 555gb.
For my XP computers, the size of C-partition is about 60 GB.
So I tried to shrink 555 gb size to 60 gb in the Disk Managment.
I could not shrink to that low but only...
Heyo forum-goers, what I am trying to do is sort of complicated but I'll try my best to explain it. Basically I'm trying to squeeze every ounce of potential out of my nearly outdated machine.
First, my relevant system specs:
- Windows 7 Pro 64bit
- 2 IDE Hard drives - 5400rpm 80GB Maxtor, and...

I am going to do a clean install of Windows 7. On my HD I have a Recovery partition that was installed by the PC maker. I have my Vista disk and do not need the recovery partition. My question is this: When I perform the clean install and at the Windows 7 screen that is entitled "Where do you...
Hey all,
I am just wondering how I can make a logical drive in Windows 7 as it seems to be a little different than XP. So far I have created one partition while installing Win 7 ( C:\, Master) and left the rest of the HDD unallocated during the installation. Now, when I go to the Disk...

Okay,
So three weeks ago I installed Windows 7 RC, and I was happy with it. So happy with it, in fact, that I proceeded to install quite lot of applications on it.
Anyway, last night I was installing the Dreamweaver CS4 trial, downloaded officially from their website. All of a sudden my PC...

Hey guys. I have Windows 7 Build 7000 (64-bit) and I have a bit of a problem. I was sorting some stuff in disk management and I noticed I had an extra, 1000MB partition on my 200GB media hard drive and I right clicked it to delete it. It told me that it would erase all data on the partition and...

In disk managment under disk 0 it says Basic 91.75 GB then 39mb unallocated then C drive 87.06 GB NTFS then 4.66 GB Unallocated.
Can I do something with that 4.66 GB. or put another way what did I do wrong with the 4.66 GB partition that seems to be wasted space.
In the disk manager tool, I tried to partition (create/name) a new partition out of free, unallocated space. but the virtual disk service blows up and the partition is "created" but it gains no letter drive and is not usable.
i tried rebooting and trying it again, no luck. same thing happens...
