Hi all,
We have a legacy Fujitsu Server with just 4x HDD bays (4x disks) - we have 2 mirrored arrays and one of the array is small and we need to upgrade the disks with larger disks but retaining all the data inside.
As far as I know the below procedure should work well:
- TAKE A FULL BACKUP...

data integrity
data recovery
external backup

hardware upgrade
hdd replacement

Good morning.
Back in 2009 I purchased a dell laptop with XP. I upgraded it to 7home premium. Now being almost 9 years old there is almost no space at all left, even after using duplicate fingers and such. So I copied its entire contents to a external hard drive and am planning to wipe out...
Hi I have a question. I bought my computer a few years ago. It came with windows xp, had a free upgrade to windows 7. I then purchased a windows 8 pro upgrade disk, installed that, and now I am running windows 8.1. Fast forward a few years, I've changed my computer case and lost everything...
I run Windows 8.1 as a Parallels virtual machine. Earlier this week - after an IMac hard drive crash - I had to re-install Windows. I have both Windows XP pro and a Windows 8 upgrade disk. My question is this. If I have to do this again, is there a workaround that will enable me to install...
I have windows 7 upgrade discs I bought and used to upgrade from vista. The pc in question has now been scrapped. Can I use the disc for a clean install to replace Xp on another PC? If so, will I have to do something about registration with Microsoft?
Hi all,
The heading says it all.
I have a legitimate new Win8Pro Upgrade dvd with serial.
Can I clean install Win8Pro with this from scratch, or do I have to upgrade over my existing Win7 Home Premium x64 Laptop?
After reading some posts on the forum I see that a clean install of Win8 would be...

On my desktop computer I did a clean install of Windows 7 off the official MS Win 7 upgrade disc that I used to upgrade from XP. I did the many rounds of Windows Upgrades, etc. Then started to install only the programs I use and only from trusted sources. Everything was going smooth and just...
Sometimes you just need to do a clean install . Unfortunately, the Windows 8 Upgrade can throw you an error when you try to activate the operating system afterwards. Lifehacker reader uncommoner shows us a workaround for this issue. More*» *

Hi everyone. So I bought a copy of windows 8 pro today at Best Buy. After I got home and installed the OS(I did a clean install), come to find out only AFTER I finished installing the OS it said that it wont activate because I did the clean install with an upgrade disc. The is no indication its...
I am going to be buying a new laptop in the next few weeks, but would like to query about upgrading from the shipped 32-Bit OS to a 64-Bit version.
The laptop I am considering is the HP Pavilion DM1-4020sa (4GB, 500GB, 1.65GHz), which comes with Windows 7 Home Premium 32.
My questions are...
No doubt this has been answered in this forum MULTIPLE times already, but I am in a bit of a quandary and need to get my laptop operating quickly - so I apologize if I'm trying to 'short-cut' doing the research to find the answer in some previous post, but I need my laptop back fast ...

Running Win7 on a hard drive installed 4 months ago. Left my Win7 upgrade disc with vendor and they loaded. Getting BSoD 2 - 3 times a day. Had tech at work (he's a Linux freak and did it begrudgingly) check hardware and all seems acceptable. Ran 'verifier' for...

I’m having some problems with my PC, and suspect it MAY be related to Windows 7. Yesterday I was using my PC and it started crashing. It would either freeze, show me a blue screen error and reboot, or just flat out reboot. I believe the problem is one of three possible things: Windows 7...
