For The Windows 8 "Storage Space" Pools, am I correct that choosing the "Simple/Resiliency" type of Pool will allow me to add more disks in the future when I buy them without any issues. I know that if you choose any of the "parity" types to create the Pool, you run the risk of having problems...

I have Windows 7 Ultimate and it allows you to make a folder for a bootable virtual HD instead of partitioning. You are running on actual hardware not in a virtual machine and dual booting and Windows 7 is still intact. Can windows 10 do this?

The disk C was formatted. By means of R-Studio pulled out from it the ntuser.dat and Outlook.pst files. Through regedit I exported from ntuser.dat all branch [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem] to the .reg the file. I placed in the...

I have Power ISO installed, so if I mount the Windows 10 ISO as a virtual disc, can I just install it like that, rather then using a real disc? I know it will not work if I'm formatting and doing a clean install but I am just upgrading from Windows 7.
Creating a virtual drive in vmware or hyper-v
As a modern system hyper-v breaks a hdd into small pieces automatically but vmware still asks the user a question… do you want me too do this?
Option 1 = a single file and option 2 is break the disc up into small pieces so what's the different and...

All of a sudden I have 4 Removable Drives on my windows 8 machine. I've tried removing these, but they return as soon as I restart.
I went into computer/disk management, right clicked each and uninstalled the driver, but no way. So I went to Device Manager and first disabled and then...
I get asked this most by people using vmware because they have gotten trained to copy | paste for their file transfers and hyper-v doesn't allow that. You can set up network paths and mapped drives but that can be fiddly or open security issues so ime the best solution is to make a vhdx (virtual...

Hi, I hope someone can help me.
I required a second copy of win7 for testing purposes. I created a bootable virtual hard drive with win7 installed on it. However when I restart my pc, there is no boot manager present. I always have to press F11 to enter into the boot menu and then choose the...

Occasionally I got bootable *.iso images which contain a Linux system with some additional software.
Ok, I could burn these ISO images on a CD/DVD and boot from them in order to test the software.
But I could imagine that there is something like a Linux boot emulator (similar to QEMU under...

I'm hoping someone can analyze a couple BSOD's I've had recently. They've caught me quite off guard, and I've lost more work than I care to admit!
I'm guessing it has something to do with my Samsung/Android phone. I often plug it in via the USB cable. I'm simply trying to charge the phone, but...
I have a Liteon iHaS124 (B version?) and I have kind of a bizarre problem with it. It worked well for over a year, now suddenly I have no detected drive at all.
I tried flashing the FW back to stock, but it says no drive detected. It's definitely connected and powered, I can eject just fine but...
While installing windows 8 i ran into an error. It said that this disk is mbr and is needed to be converted to gpt. So I tried formatting it and it said

I went to cmd and tried to convert mbr to gpt...

So I've had this same type of bluescreen for a while and whatever and I can go on with what has happened but basically the same thing is happening in my other thread that I made (which I do think helped) but I have no clue what I did in the past few months that brought it back. Also I've been...
Whenever I RDP into my box (running windows7 ultimate) I cannot read/write CDs/DVDs. I can when logged in locally, as well as boot off the DVD drive.
I have noticed that occasionally when switching between RDP and local, I will see two DVD drives.
Could this be a device cloning issue?
thnx
