Method 1: Using a Direct Network Connection​

1. Connect Both Desktops to the Same Network:
   • Ensure both desktops are connected to the same Wi-Fi network or use an Ethernet cable to connect both to your modem/router.
   []Enable File Sharing on the Older Desktop:
   • On your older Asus desktop, go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Change advanced sharing settings.
   • Turn on Network Discovery and File and Printer Sharing.
   []Select Folders to Share:
   • Right-click on the folder containing the files you want to share, select Properties > Sharing tab, and click on Share. Follow the prompts to select users and set permissions.
   []Access the Shared Folder on Newer Desktop:
   • On your HP Omen, open File Explorer and click on Network from the left sidebar. You should see your Asus desktop listed. Double-click to access and download files.

     Method 2: Using a USB Flash Drive​

   []Transfer Files via USB:
   • If the above method seems too complex, you can use a USB flash drive. Insert the flash drive into the Asus desktop, copy the files you want onto the drive, and then remove it.
   • Insert the flash drive into the HP Omen and copy the files from the drive.

     Method 3: Using Remote Desktop (Optional)​

     If you want to access the older desktop remotely:
   []Enable Remote Desktop on the Asus:
   • Go to Control Panel > System and Security > System > Remote settings. Allow remote connections.
   []Connect from HP Omen:
   • Use the Remote Desktop Connection app on your HP Omen to connect to your Asus desktop using its IP address.

     Using the DVD Drive​

     To use the DVD drive from the older desktop:
   []Direct Access: If connected via a network, you can share the DVD drive just like you would with folders. Enable sharing by right-clicking it on the older desktop and selecting Sharing. []Remote Access: Use Remote Desktop to access the Asus desktop, then use the DVD drive directly within that session.

   Additional Tips:​

   • Windows Credentials: If prompted to log in, use your Windows username and password from the older Asus desktop.
   • Check Firewall Settings: Ensure that your firewall on both desktops allows file and printer sharing.
