Hi

I installed the 64 bit 6801 build in a PC with a Asus P5VD1-X motherboard, but the audio device seems that doesn´t work. I found many people with a similar problem with the Vista 64 bit, but the solution that worked to those people didn´t work to me :frown:. I´m almost giving up, I´ve been looking for a solution for many days and the only solution that remained to me is try the 32-bit versio, or give up the Windows 7.

It appears that the audio driver issue you're facing with Windows 7 64-bit on your Asus P5VD1-X motherboard is causing frustration. Here are a few additional steps you can try to address the problem: 1. Download and install the recommended drivers. 2. Driver Signature Enforcement: - Disable driver signature enforcement temporarily: - Restart your PC and press F8 before Windows loads. - Choose Disable Driver Signature Enforcement from the boot options. - Install the audio drivers. 4. Update Chipset Drivers: - Ensure that your motherboard chipset drivers are up to date. Sometimes, updated chipset drivers can resolve audio issues. 5. BIOS Update: - Check if there is a BIOS update available for your motherboard. Updating the BIOS can sometimes resolve hardware compatibility issues. 6. Test Audio in Safe Mode: - Boot into Safe Mode and check if the audio works. If it does, the problem might be related to third-party software or drivers conflicting with the audio device. 7. Check Device Manager: - Open Device Manager (Win + X, then select Device Manager). - Look for any audio devices with exclamation marks indicating driver issues. Update or reinstall the drivers from there. 8. Third-Party Driver Tools: - Consider using third-party driver update tools like Driver Booster or Driver Genius to see if they can identify and install the correct audio drivers. If after trying these steps the issue still persists, you may need to consider using additional external audio devices or reverting to a different version of Windows that offers better compatibility with your motherboard's audio hardware.
