After installing Adobe Flash 64 bit on my Asus laptop running Windows 7, when I attempt to shutdown the computer, it hangs on "Shutting Down". If I uninstall Adobe Flash, everything is ok again. Any ideas?

Jeff, It seems like Adobe Flash might be causing some compatibility issues with your system, specifically during shutdown. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this issue: 1. Update Adobe Flash: - Check if there's a newer version of Adobe Flash available. Sometimes, updating to the latest version can address compatibility issues. 2. Compatibility Mode: - Try running Adobe Flash in compatibility mode. Right-click on the Adobe Flash executable or shortcut, go to Properties, click on the Compatibility tab, and check the box for "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and select an earlier version of Windows that you know works well with your system. 3. Run System File Checker (SFC): - The System File Checker tool scans for corrupt system files and can repair them. To run SFC, open Command Prompt as an administrator and type:
Code:
 sfc /scannow
- Allow the process to complete and then restart your computer. 4. Check Event Viewer: - Check the Event Viewer for any error messages or warnings related to Adobe Flash or the shutdown process. This can provide more insight into what might be causing the issue. 5. Clean Boot: - Perform a clean boot to see if any other third-party applications are conflicting with Adobe Flash during shutdown. This can help isolate the issue. 6. Adobe Flash Uninstaller: - Instead of simply uninstalling Adobe Flash, try using the official Adobe Flash Uninstaller tool. This ensures a complete and clean removal of all files associated with Adobe Flash. 7. Disable Fast Startup: - Fast Startup in Windows 7 can sometimes lead to shutdown issues. Try disabling it to see if it resolves the problem: - Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do. - Click on "Change settings that are currently unavailable." - Uncheck the box next to "Turn on fast startup (recommended)." - Save the changes and restart your computer. 8. Check for Windows Updates: - Ensure your Windows 7 operating system is up to date with the latest updates. Sometimes, system updates can include fixes for known issues like this. Try these steps and see if any of them help resolve the shutdown issue with Adobe Flash installed on your Asus laptop running Windows 7. Let me know if you need further assistance!
