My PC: HP laptop, Windows 10 home, version 1709

I have a question, not a problem. When I'm plugged in to AC and the battery reaches 100% charge, the battery meter shows it's still charging. Is this any reason for concern? Thanks.

Solution
No. There is no negative consequence for leaving a laptop plugged in all the time. Laptops can't be overcharged due to a hardware mechanism which once fully charged will halt the battery being charged and divert energy directly to the laptop internals nor due Li-ion batteries suffer from charge memory issues.

Thanks, Neemo. That makes sense. Are Li-ion batteries still being used in any late model laptop today? Mine is a little over a month old.

Most if not all laptop batteries are Li-ion batteries. It should be stated on the battery

I won't be able to see the battery unless I remove the entire bottom of my PC. Assuming that it is Li-ion, what's the best way to treat it? Run on battery occasionally 'till almost discharged, or does it not matter because protection of some type is built in? Thanks again.

OH, I just re-read your previous reply. Presumably, protection is built in.
