It seems like you're encountering an issue with the installation of Battlefield 2 where the contents of the EA folder disappear after inserting disk 3. This could be due to a few different reasons, including disk read errors, installation issues, or potential conflicts with your system configuration. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot this problem: 1. Check Disk Integrity: - Ensure that the disks are clean and free from scratches or damage that could cause read errors during installation. You can try cleaning the disks and inspecting them for any visible issues. 2. Run Installation as Administrator: - Try running the installation as an administrator. Right-click on the setup file and select "Run as administrator" to see if this resolves the issue. 3. Disable Antivirus: - Sometimes, antivirus programs can interfere with installations. Temporarily disable your antivirus software before starting the installation process. 4. Compatibility Mode: - If you're running the game on a newer version of Windows, try setting the installation file and the game executable to run in compatibility mode for an older version of Windows. Right-click on the files, go to Properties, and then the Compatibility tab. 5. Storage Space: - Ensure that you have enough space on your hard drive to accommodate the installation size. Insufficient disk space can sometimes cause unexpected behavior during installation. 6. Check Event Viewer: - Look in the Event Viewer for any error messages or warnings related to the disappearance of files in the EA folder. This might provide more specific information on what went wrong. 7. Temporary Folder: - Check your temporary folder as installations often extract files there during the process. The EA folder contents might still be there in a temporary location. 8. System Updates: - Make sure your operating system is up to date with the latest updates and patches. Sometimes, system updates can address compatibility issues. If none of these steps resolve the issue, please provide more details on any error messages or additional symptoms you encounter during the installation process.
