I have encrypted the domain joined system but after checking the status it is showing "Device is Partially Encrypted".

What can be done to avoid "Partially Encrypted Drive" message in future or to take any precautions.

There could be a few reasons why your BitLocker drive is showing as "Partially Encrypted." Here are some steps you can take to avoid this message in the future and ensure your drive is fully encrypted:

1. Check the encryption progress: BitLocker encryption can take a significant amount of time, especially for larger drives. It's possible that the encryption process is still ongoing. To check the progress, go to the BitLocker settings in Control Panel or the BitLocker Drive Encryption applet in the Control Panel. Ensure that the encryption process is complete before checking the status again.

2. Encrypt all currently used space: BitLocker can encrypt only the used space on a drive, which means that portions of the drive that are currently empty may show as "Partially Encrypted." To avoid this, open an elevated Command Prompt and run the following command: "manage-bde -on C: -used." This command will encrypt all currently used space on the C: drive. Replace "C:" with the appropriate drive letter if you are encrypting a different drive.

3. Run BitLocker system check: BitLocker includes a system check feature that scans the computer for common configuration issues that could result in a partially encrypted drive. To perform this check, open an elevated Command Prompt and run the following command: "manage-bde -status." Look for any errors or warnings in the output. If any issues are detected, you can use the error codes to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.

4. Use BitLocker for new drives: If you are setting up a new drive, it's best to enable BitLocker immediately after formatting the drive. This will ensure that the entire drive is encrypted from the start and avoids any potential issues with partial encryption.

5. Maintain system integrity: Ensure that your system is up to date with the latest Windows updates and security patches. Also, regularly check for firmware updates for your system's BIOS and other hardware. Keeping your system updated helps to maintain the integrity of the encryption process and avoid potential conflicts.

By following these steps and staying vigilant, you should be able to avoid the "Partially Encrypted Drive" message in the future and ensure that your drive is fully encrypted with BitLocker.
