Hi everyone, I am having some issues with windows 7 it started about a couple or days... The day before yesterday I was cheking some videos at youtube, all going as usual (fine) then I shut the cpu down , got to sleep and turn it on the next day and after loggin into windows7 a black screen appeared with the cursor, that i could move. ctrl+alt+del did not worked, esc or enter, nothing. So I rebooted manually and nothing happens. After that I run safe mode, a full antivirus scan and malware, all clean. So I restart in normal mode and It worked fine yesterday, but today the issue appeared and I did the same as yesterday but now is not working, I have been looking answers for this in forums , some of them says that is maybe a malfunction from a driver of nvidia, or a windows update , I changed the wires from monitor aswell but still not working , this problem is driving me nuts

System spec: Intel Core 2 Duo 57500@2,93ghz, 2 x Kingstone HyperX 2gb 1066 ddr2, Nvidia 9800 GT 1 gb ddr3. OS Windows 7 Home Premium.

Thanks !

It seems like you are experiencing a frustrating issue with your Windows 7 system displaying a black screen with a cursor after logging in. This can be troublesome, but there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the black screen problem in Windows 7: 1. Boot into Safe Mode: Since you mentioned that Safe Mode worked fine, try performing a clean boot to isolate the issue. This will help determine if a third-party application or service is causing the problem. 2. Update Graphics Drivers: As you suspected, outdated or faulty graphics drivers, especially Nvidia drivers, can cause display issues. Try updating your Nvidia graphics driver to...

Try updating your Nvidia graphics driver to the latest version compatible with Windows 7. 3. Check for Windows Updates: Sometimes, Windows updates can cause compatibility issues. Make sure your system is up to date with the latest Windows updates. 4. Run System File Checker (SFC): SFC is a built-in tool in Windows that scans and repairs corrupted system files. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the command sfc /scannow. 5. Check for Malware: Even though you ran antivirus and malware scans, it's good to double-check with reputable tools like Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. 6. Disable Fast Startup: In some cases, disabling Fast Startup in Windows 7 can resolve boot-related issues. You can find this option in the Power Options settings. 7. Perform System Restore: If the issue started after a recent Windows update or software installation, you can try performing a system restore to a point before the problem occurred. Given the age of Windows 7 and the system specifications you provided, it's also worth considering an upgrade to a newer and more supported version of Windows. However, if you prefer to stick with Windows 7, these troubleshooting steps should help you identify and resolve the black screen issue. If you encounter any specific error messages or if these steps do not resolve the problem, feel free to provide more details for further assistance.
