Windows 8 Blue Screen Error when monitor dims

I get a blue screen error of "driverirql_not_less_equal" when my laptop monitor dims.

Specs:
OS: Windows 8 Professional (64 bit)
Intel i7 2640M
8 Gb Ram
1T HD

I know it has been 2 weeks, so you may not be watching this thread any more. But I was wondering, since I do not have a laptop, if you check Settings on the Charm panel, of the 6 icons on the bottom of the panel, the top right one is for brightness. Does yours say it can be adjusted, or Unavailable?

Just thinking possibly different adjustments were conflicting.
