I cant get into my desktop on windows 7, after I login It hangs at welcome and loads for a while, then a green screen appears.

after I reboot I get the error has occured screen and get the safe mode and start windows as normal etc....options.

I can get into desktop in safe mode.

My pc is only new, all parts are new

please help

The main reason you would boot into Safe Mode to troubleshoot is to keep some device drivers from loading. But some system services also are not started, so it may be one of those.

Does the event viewer show any errors in any of the logs?

Can you disable any devices during boot?

While in safe mode, if you open the the system configuration (msconfig) and go to the general tab, perhaps selecting the Diagnostic startup would allow you to boot into Normal Windows.

While in safe mode, if you open the the system configuration (msconfig) and go to the general tab, perhaps selecting the Diagnostic startup would allow you to boot into Normal Windows.

I went into MSCINFIG and found that in advanced options my RAM was set to 256, so I unchecked the box and rebooted which allowed me to start windows as per normal.

Under general, selective start up was selected, so I selected nomral startup and rebooted to find my problem came back, so I reapeated same step as mentioned above and got back into windows again.

I then check the event log and found these errors as follows:

Do you remember setting the RAM to 256? If not, has it come back by itself. This might indicate a memory problem, but just guessing. There is a memory checking process on the msconfig page.

The board seems to have built in Video. Have you tried the system using just it and removing the other card?

From what I can tell, you need to use msconfig to do a diagnostic startup. If you are successful in the next boot, it is supposed to mean either System Services or Startup items are causing the problem. If using the Diagnostic Startup does not help, the problem would be somewhere else, such as the RAM or possibly Video, or some other device.

If the boot was successful, then you would next activate the Selective Startup option. Deactivate Load System Services and activate Load Startup items. If it boots correctly, reverse the options. This should tell you which section it is in. You will then have to narrow down the choices by selecting only one (or more) System Service or Start-up item at a time.

The Critical Kernel Power items seem to happen as a result of something else, or at least some of the time. Can you get any more detail from some of the other entries by expanding and check if they indicate anything that makes sense?
