hello folks :)

i get BSOD when i run 3d-games in crossfire mode. If i play with xfire disabled there is no problem but with it on i get BSOD at random times.

also tried with each individual cards in the pc and that also works flawlessly.

it started happening after i bios flashed both my 5850 cards in DOS. Tried to get voltage control unlocked with MSi unlocked bios, but wish i never did that now :(. My theory is that somthing gone bad in the cards roms since i only can flash using force flash (-f). ive tried flashing back to original bios but it didnt resolve it.

ive also had some BSOD pointing to the display driver... i tried formatting so unfortunatly i dont have that dump.

also got uncorrectable hardware error several times.

anyway i only get this dump now. dont know if i somehow fixed the others or they are related to this one...

would be thrilled if someone could cast light on this issue.

Hardware, Incompatibility, May be driver corruption.

Your latest dump file lists hardware as the probable cause.

Stop 0x124 Checks
  • Ensure that none of the hardware is being over-clocked.
  • Ensure that the machine is adequately cooled. Chase out those dust bunnies!
  • Make sure all hardware related drivers are up to date.

Old and incompatible drivers can and do cause issues with Windows 7, often giving false error codes. Random stop codes can often indicate hardware issues. By sorting these problematic drivers / software, we may get a clearer picture of what is happening.

As a Priority:

A.V.G is known to be a cause of BSOD's on Windows 7 systems. Suggest that you uninstall it. Download the correct Link Removed for your system (32 or 64 bit).
If you have A.V.G ID protection installed, download the A.V.GID Protection Remover from the above link as well (it wouldn't hurt to download and run it anyway). Download BSOD friendly Link Removed due to 404 Error as A.V.G's replacement.
Uninstall A.V.G through the Control Panel. Re-boot to Safe Mode and run the A.V.G Removal tool(s). Re-boot to normal mode and install MSE. Make sure your Windows firewall is enabled!

Outdated Drivers. Update:

AmdTools64.sys Mon Apr 28 18:03:39 2008 Link Removed If you cannot update then uninstall this pre Windows 7 software.

jraid.sys Tue Nov 04 02:20:09 2008 Link Removed

Rt64win7.sys Thu Feb 26 09:04:13 2009 Link Removed If you're unsure about manually installing drivers then choose the Win7 and WinServer 2008 R2 Auto Installation Program (SID:1469821) to download.

Let us know how it goes. If you get further problems with blue screens, attach your new dump files and details and we'll move on from there.

Solution
Hi elmer, i was reading the dump too and this got my attention..

FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: X64_0x124_GenuineIntel_PROCESSOR_BUS

most of the dump is pretty much nonesence to me but i guess its could be CPU/FSB instability due to OC.
Eventhough i find it odd since i tested stability with CPuburninTest.

i have bumped the FSB voltage, and it seems to work so far. Time will tell.

if i get the crash again i will try your suggestions. Only dabbled with the ATI drivers so far so a lot i can try there :)

when i play dirt3 i get a BSOD when crashing, but in battlefield 3 it just freezes without producing any minidump.

Event Viewer: SignInAssistant (this thing seems to be causing my BF3 instability) dont know what it is

thanks you responding so fast ...

i read the dump and this caught my attention:

FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: X64_0x124_GenuineIntel_PROCESSOR_BUS

most of the dump is nonesence to me but i figured it could be OC instability even tho i find it odd since i tested it in IntelBurnout and it was reported stable.

i have bumped the Vcore and FSB voltage some and it seems to not crash anymore in Dirt3 at least.

Battlefield 3 is another matter. When i play that game the screen just freezes and i cant do anything except rebooting.

this crash dosnt produce any minidump so it is hard to get wiser on this issue.

This is what i can make out of the Event Viewer:
- <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event">

This event seems to be causing the crash. I have no idea what is it. i guess would be messenger sign in app?

But as you say there is proberly some driver issues and i will look into your walkthrough.

Don't bump the fsb voltage bump vcore or VccIO :) Keep an aye on the temps though.
