Hi,

I have been getting BSOD at random for the past 2 months. Sometimes with an interval of days sometimes with an interval of seconds rendering my PC useless. Please find the BSOD Error log towards the end of this post.

My OS us up to date with Automatic Windows update.
I have removed the windows update KB2859537 which causes BSOD in many cases. (As suggested by Microsoft)

I ran Chkdsk /r /f - My hard disk is good
I ran memtest86 - My ram modules are good
I ran Windows Memory Diagnostics - My ram modules are good.
Am monitoring my CPU and graphics temperature and got the CPU very well vented and cleaned - No hot pockets or temperature issues.
The voltage setting are stable. None of the hardware is being overclocked.
Cleaned all physical connections and reconnected them.
Everything running on latest drivers and mobo updated to latest firmware.

I removed the Graphics card and ran the computer using onboard display card, still I got the same BSOD Error.

I do NOT get the BSOD when I am in Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking on.

I am running out of options to troubleshoot this and still I am nowhere near isolating this issue.
Someone please help.

I have attached with this post,
- W7F Diagnostic tool output
-CPUID screenshots
-rammon screenshot

Please let me know if you need more run any more tests or need additional details to troubleshoot this.
Kindly remember that my PC is usable only in Safe mode and hence am restricted to the things I can do only in safe mode for now.
Thank you.

Bug check code 124 is a fatal hardware error. Did you install any hardware recently? Or there may be some hardware not seated properly.

Badrobot,
Thank you for the reply.
I cleaned all connections reconnected them all to make sure they are connected/seated properly.
And no new hardware in the past year.

When you say "connections" did you mean connections to your motherboard? Cuz that's what I am talking about.

Cheers!

Yes sir.
Power cables from PSU to all hardware.
Cables connecting mobo and disk drives, seating of graphics card, proc, RAM modules, PCIe connectors, just about all movable parts inside the chassis.

Hi,

all your dmp files are pointing to the processor as the culprit. Are you using anything to overclock it? Is your PSU powerful enough? Did anything happen in particular to trigger these events like a hard shutdown perhaps?
Can you also post the temperature your cpu idles at and the temp when it's at full load.

Hi Kemical,

Thank you for the merge.

My CPU idles at 30C and at max load it stabilizes at 51C. I used Prime 95 and Intel burn for simulations.
My proc is rated upto 62C according to manufacturer website.

None of my components are being overclocked.

a TX650W from Corsair is definitely a good PSU for my configuration. My rig is not under powered.

More details:

When I physically removed my graphics card and ran on onboard graphics, I got BSOD.
But with the card physically connected but drivers removed, No BSOD for 12 hours.
So I checked website and updated to their BETA drivers and no BSOD for 24 hours now.
Will continue monitoring....

I still don't get it how my dump files are pointing to CPU as the bad boy

It might not mean that your CPU is bad but that a driver is causing the issue. However one still has to chase these 'clues' in case they lead anywhere. It does sound like your getting somewhere so i'll await your reply.

Chasing clues DEFINITELY helped narrow down the problem and I can't thank enough for that.
For instance, I didn't know 124 could be caused without an actual hardware issue.

I've been pushing my computer the whole of today. So that's 48 hours without BSOD. Touch wood.
Still too early to pop the champagne though.
