Windows 7 BSOD up to 6 times a day.

My laptop is Samsung NP-SF410-S01CA.
I had been having BSOD since for a year now.
I have tried memtest for hours, tried chkdsk, tried switching memory stick to different slots,
and re-installing windows 7 two times.
I've even sent my laptop to samsung for repair but it was not fixed eventually.
Thanks for helping.

Only 94 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 150 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

Out of 50 memory dumps there were 11 or 12 different BSOD error codes. The differing error codes are usually symptomatic of a lower level problem within the system. They are usually caused by one of these things:
- borked (broken) hardware (several different procedures used to isolate the problem device)
- BIOS issues (check for updates at the motherboard manufacturer's website)
- overclocking - You'll know if you're overclocking or not. If uncertain we can suggest things to check.
- compatibility issues (3rd party hardware/drivers)
- low-level driver problems
- or even malware (scanned for when we ask for hardware diagnostics from Initial Hardware Diagnostics or Hardware Diagnostics ).

I strongly suggest several of the free anti-malware scans from here: Free Online AntiMalware Resources
This is just in case your onboard protection was compromised.

Your BIOS dates from 2011. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard.

Then please run these free hardware diagnostics. There's no need to repeat tests that you've already run, but be sure you've run them at least as long as I've suggested: Hardware Diagnostics Please let us know the results of the tests as you complete them.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Thank you for your help.
I have done malware scans in bitdefender and no threat was discovered.
I never overclock, so it`s outside this issue.
I have checked that I have the `latest`BIOS becuase they did not have updated it at all! sigh
Capture.JPG
For hardware tests:
Done overnight memtest86, no errors.
Furmark ran for 15 min, temperature max did not go over 90 celsius, no errors.
Intel Diagnostic Processor Test CPU Passed.

And for the driver that you requested for update/removal, I could not find the driver.
I am not using any hostnet programs or services, and hostnt.sys was not running in the task manager either.
However hostnt.sys exists in my system32 folder, how do I handle this?

Have you run the hard drive diagnostics? That's probably the most important test to run at this stage.

Make sure that you get ALL available Windows Updates (to include Service Pack 1) as soon as you can after reinstalling Windows.
Update all drivers/programs from the PC manufacturer's website
Install a free anti-virus
DO NOT install other software at this time.
Then wait and see if further BSOD's occur

If the system doesn't BSOD on you - then start with installing programs one at a time.
Make sure that you have the latest, Win7 version

Good luck!

First, I've only installed the manufacturer drivers and over 100 painstaking windows updates(which happens to keep failing at downloading), and no bsod came out. The 2nd day, 2 bsod came out, and I am attaching the files. Then second BSOD though, it is from a manufacturer driver Marvell Yukon. Should I uninstall this?

And for another problem I faced is that Skype and ooVoo chatting/call services will crash after installating when executing.

The 2 different memory dumps point to 2 different problems. This isn't unusual if you're having low-level problems as I described above. DO NOT un-install anything until we have stronger evidence of a problem.

FIRST - run the Seagate Seatools Long test from here: Hard Drive Diagnostic Procedure

Continue to try and get Windows Updates. I understand that they are failing - but low-level driver issues can be caused by this.

Is the system still under warranty?

I've ran the seatool long test before I've reinstalled windows, and I've passed it with no errors. Now I tested with seatool again with the long test and no errors were found.
I won't uninstall anything as I've said.
For the windows update, I will continue updating whenever new updates come. Question, I have to install microsoft office updates right?

Yes, install the Office updates also. They're not (IMO) as critical as the others - but the system does need them.

Just as a hunch, please do the following:
- open Event Viewer (eventvwr.msc)
- expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
- right click on Administrative Events
- select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
- save the file as Admin.evtx
- zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
- upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).

Zipped up Admin event viewer information. I've set the display information in English(US) when they asked me between no display information and show display information. I don't know what that does, but just letting you know. Thanks

I have no clue about that either - but the log is in English (which helps me!)

Lot's of errors in the logfile.

The most significant (IMO) are a set of errors that point to the CPU's being limited by the BIOS firmware. It's not a big issue in Win7 - but I wouldn't attempt Win8 on this system.

5 EventID 41 errors (unexpected shutdown) from 27 April onwards. These are due to Windows shutting down for no known reason. This can be due to shutting down by holding the power button down - have you done that those times (to the best of your recollection?)

Skype errors point at video drivers - please update you video drivers to the latest version available from the Samsung website. If you already have the latest version, please un-install it and then install the freshly downloaded version.

The two most likely issues that I've seen are a hard drive problem and a Windows problem. You've tested the hard drive and have reinstalled Windows - so that effectively rules them out. That leaves (IMO) a problem with your motherboard (as the errors are scattered all over the place, not just in one area). What did Samsung do when they repaired it?

Since I reinstalled windows 7 I never had to press my power button long enough for anything. Only normal window update restarts and just unexpected shutdowns from getting a bluescreen.

When I sent my computer to samsung, they sent the computer back to me with personal information intact, and the hard drive cover tampered(broken)... They did not give me a report of what they did, fixed, replaced, etc.. :/ They obviously did not fix it, and my 1 year warranty is gone.

My best guess to this annoying problem is the motherboard too but the drivers too! Samsung never updated their drivers!
This computer uses nvidia optimus for graphics so I can't use normal nvidia geforce drivers; I have to use the manufacturer's drivers.

At that time when I had the samsung OEM windows 7, the laptop had a samsung software that lets you recover personal information or windows system files, like Windows Restore.
In my opinion they just used that program to reset the windows system only. Bluescreens still came out after I've gotten it.

I don't see any problems with drivers - and the reinstallation of Windows should have fixed any driver problems also.

If it's the motherboard, then there's not much to do. Unfortunately, the only "test" available for a motherboard is to replace it and see if that fixes the problem.

I most often see EventID 41 errors when there are overheating problems, but it can be almost any hardware problem that causes them. The actual error is simply a statement that Windows doesn't know why it happened, but that Windows restarted for no reason that Windows can see.

At this point it's your choice - either replace the motherboard or get a new system. I can't guarantee that either will fix the problem - but IMO it's the next step in troubleshooting.

Good luck!
