Hi all!

I am new at this.

So, the story is...

I am unable to watch DVD on my computer as it display wrong colour and some colour missing.
So, I download lastest driver from AMD ATI website and install it.
The install went okay but when it ask to restart computer.

The computer restart then BSOD flash up before log in screen then restart again.
It just stuck in this cycle.

So, I did System Restore and it is working again with old driver but unable to watch DVD.

My graphic card is ASUS HD 4870 1GB GDDR5 Dual DVI HDTV out PCI-E Graphics Card.
My current driver version is 8.
trying to update to 10.11

Thank again. (sorry about long story)

Hello, welcome. Really, really messy machine. Let's fix what needs it.

1) Uninstall VirtualCloneDrive. Replace with PowerISO. The disc emulation is free:

PowerISO - Create, Edit, Compress, Encrypt, Split, Mount, Extract ISO file, ISO/BIN converter, Virtual Drive

2) Update ASUS Virtual Video Capture driver:

asusgsb asusgsb.sys Thu Sep 27 09:14:50 2007

3) Uninstall RealVNC, it's too old:

vncmirror vncmirror.sys Fri Mar 14 13:43:05 2008

4) Uninstall CloneCD with its ancient driver:

ElbyCDFL ElbyCDFL.sys Thu Dec 14 16:22:27 2006

5) Must update Atheros AR5008 driver:

WMP300Nv2 WMP300Nv2.sys Tue Jul 31 01:13:59 2007

ATHEROS Wireless drivers for Windows

6) Update your Sony Ericcson Mobile software to latest from their site:

seehcri seehcri.sys Wed Jan 09 03:41:35 2008

7) Install the latest patch to the game Dirt or uninstall the game completely:

pe3ah4nc pe3ah4nc.sys Fri May 18 15:53:11 2007
ps6ah4nc ps6ah4nc.sys Fri May 18 15:52:47 2007

1) Uninstall VirtualCloneDrive - DONE

2) Update ASUS Virtual Video Capture driver - How? Cant find driver

3) Uninstall RealVNC - Have to leave it on for my job

4) Uninstall CloneCD with its ancient driver - DONE

5) Must update Atheros AR5008 driver - Unable to install due to Vista only. (not 7)

6) Update your Sony Ericcson Mobile software to latest from their site - Already latest

7) Install the latest patch to the game Dirt or uninstall the game completely - DONE

1) Uninstall VirtualCloneDrive - DONE --- Good.

2) Update ASUS Virtual Video Capture driver - How? Cant find driver --- ASUS site.

3) Uninstall RealVNC - Have to leave it on for my job --- Unfortunately, that reason is not going to stop the machine from crashing. Find another solution with drivers newer than July 2009.

4) Uninstall CloneCD with its ancient driver - DONE --- Good.

5) Must update Atheros AR5008 driver - Unable to install due to Vista only. (not 7) --- I linked to Windows 7 driver. Check again.

6) Update your Sony Ericcson Mobile software to latest from their site - Already latest --- Uninstall if needed and all else has failed.

7) Install the latest patch to the game Dirt or uninstall the game completely - DONE --- Good.

"VNC Free Edition is not currently supported on Windows Vista or Windows 7."

Link Removed due to 404 Error

Confirmed that you really do need to uninstall and find new solution, or problems will persist.

Okay, but what about Graphic card driver??

I am using old driver (version 8).

Tried to update to version 10 but this cause BSOD..

No you're not. You have the latest driver installed:

Code:
0: kd> lmvm atikmdag
start end module name
fffff880`04809000 fffff880`04ffe000 atikmdag T (no symbols)
    Loaded symbol image file: atikmdag.sys
    Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\atikmdag.sys
    Image name: atikmdag.sys
    Timestamp: Tue Oct 26 22:29:53 2010 (4CC78EA1)
    CheckSum: 007AF7FC

    Translations: 0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4

If DVDs aren't playing well, uninstall all the codec and codec packs that you previously installed to the machine.
