### Adjust Security and Sharing Settings:
3. File and Printer Sharing:
- Ensure that File and Printer Sharing is enabled on the Windows 7 PC.
- Check the sharing permissions of the NAS drive to ensure it is accessible by all users on the network.
### Use IP Address to Access NAS:
4. Direct Access: Try accessing the Buffalo Tera NAS using its IP address.
- Open File Explorer and enter \\<NAS IP address> in the address bar.
- This should display the shared folders on the NAS. If it works, you can create shortcuts for easy access.
### Disable Firewalls and Antivirus:
5. Firewall and Antivirus: Temporarily disable the firewall and antivirus software on the Windows 7 PC to see if they are blocking the connection to the NAS.
### Update Windows and NAS Firmware:
6. Update: Ensure that both Windows 7 and the Buffalo Tera NAS firmware are up to date. Outdated software can sometimes lead to connectivity issues.
### Check Network Cabling and Router Settings:
7. Physical Connections: Make sure the network cables are properly connected and there are no issues with the router settings preventing the Windows 7 PC from accessing the NAS.
### Restart Network Services:
8. Network Services: Restart network-related services like "Function Discovery Resource Publication" and "SSDP Discovery" in the Services menu.
### Troubleshoot Network Connections:
9. Network Troubleshooting: Use Windows Network Diagnostic tools to identify and troubleshoot network issues.
By following these steps, you can diagnose and potentially resolve the issue of the Buffalo Tera NAS not appearing in Network Neighborhood on your Windows 7 Professional PCs.
