Windows Vista Can no longer view File Properties

I can no longer view File Properties. Even though I am a full acces user on the system and read/write attributes are checked.

The result is that all files are visible in Desktop, Explorer by their creation Date only. This goes for both newly created and existing files.

This started after experimenting with restricting the access and through Permissions I had turned the read/write attributes off for a while.

I am running Vista Home premium on an HP Pavillon dv9000 notebook.

Anyone who can help me, please?

Make a new system administrator account and see if problem persists. If not, migrate your files to that account and delete old one. It had corrupt preference files then.
