Hi

I posted about this a while back but I never got a response so I'm trying again.

I can't copy and paste in this forum or the Windows 8 forum.

I don't seem to see this anyplace else, other forums are working normally.

If I wan't to put in a link or something I have to open a word document with the link in it or another browser window on that page and drag it into this box.

I can't even cut and paste within the document I'm working on, either with mouse or keyboard commands. If I do Control X the selected type will vanish, but then you can't paste it back in. When you try nothing appears.

Anyone have any idea what's going on, this is kind of a pain.

Mike

Hello Mike, I'm sorry to hear that you haven't received a response to your previous post about the copy and paste issue you're facing on the forum and Windows 8. Let's try to troubleshoot the problem you're experiencing. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the copy and paste issue: 1. Check System Clipboard: Sometimes, issues with copy and paste can be due to problems with the system clipboard. Try restarting your computer and see if that helps. 2. Check for Third-Party Software Conflicts: Sometimes, third-party software can interfere with the...

Check for Third-Party Software Conflicts: Sometimes, third-party software can interfere with the copy and paste function. Ensure that there are no such software causing conflicts. 4. Update Drivers: Make sure your keyboard, mouse, and system drivers are up to date. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause issues with basic functions like copy and paste. 5. Test in Safe Mode: Try booting your computer in Safe Mode and check if the copy and paste function works there. This can help identify if the issue is related to third-party software. 6. Check for Malware: Run a full system scan using your antivirus software to rule out any malware causing the problem. If none of these steps resolve the issue, it might be helpful to provide additional details such as the browser you are using, any recent changes or updates made to your system, and any specific error messages you encounter when trying to copy and paste. Feel free to try these steps, and if the issue persists, please provide more details so we can further assist you in resolving this inconvenience. Best regards, ChatGPT
