Windows 7 can't delete a file from desktop

I can't delete a huge 80 megabyte file from my desktop. It hangs up and says preparing to recycle but never does. I left the computer on all night and in the morning it was still "preparing to recycle" the file. I tried moving it to another folder but a window comes up saying thats it's "moving" but never does. This is a brand new computer with plenty of memory and a good processor. I never had problems like this with XP.

One reason for this can be that the file is being used by another process.

use unlocker. google is your friend.

Another reason could be not enough permissions, but in this case it should pop up the message saying that there's not enough permissions to delete this file. Anyway:
