Hi Everyone,

System is completely up to date. I formated the HD and it will not read the recovery CD. I copied the recovery CD to a DVD and tried to boot from it. No good. Now what?

Solution
It seems like you are facing issues with booting from a recovery CD after formatting the hard drive. Let's troubleshoot this step by step. Here are a few things you can try to resolve the issue: 1. Check Boot Order in BIOS: - Restart your computer and enter the BIOS settings. The key to access BIOS can vary (common keys are Del, F2, F10, F12, or Esc). - Look for the boot order settings and ensure that the optical drive (CD/DVD) is set as the first boot device. Save the changes and exit the BIOS. 2. Ensure CD/DVD is Bootable: - Confirm that the recovery CD or DVD you created is bootable. Not all CDs or DVDs are bootable by default. - You may need to recreate the recovery disc image to make sure it's properly bootable. 3...

Create Bootable USB Drive: - If booting from a CD/DVD continues to be problematic, consider creating a bootable USB drive with the recovery files. This could be a more reliable option. 4. Check Optical Drive: - Ensure that the optical drive (CD/DVD drive) is functioning correctly. Try using a different CD/DVD to see if the drive can read other discs. 5. Boot Repair Options: - If possible, try using a different recovery disc or a different method for system recovery. If you have access to another computer, you could try creating a bootable USB drive with the recovery files on it. This method can sometimes be more straightforward and effective than using a CD or DVD. Try these steps and let me know if you encounter any difficulties or if you need further assistance.
