Windows 7 Changing Default Media folders

I have a Compaq Presario SR1819UK Desktop PC with 2 Sata hard drives installed. One is a 80GB Maxtor drive (Windows and Applications) and a 1TB WD Green Drive (File Storage). Because the OS is installed on a small hard drive, I want to put all my files on the 1TB drive. That means, that I want to default the library folders to the file storage drive so if I save something (e.g Documents, Pictures, Downloads, Music, Videos), they are saved there instead on the 80GB drive. I can't seem to find a way to do this, so I am asking if there is a method to do this or I have to simply do things manually.

Above links should help you but remember that you move the content of the folder and not the folder itself. Make folders in the desired location before you start moving the files.

Be careful because if you make a mess of it, it's going to be hard to set things right !

Thank you, that certainly helped!

I have now defaulted the main folders to my Storage drive. Hopefully this will work correctly in the foreseeable future
