Windows 8 Chrome Tile launches Win7 Desktop?

I have a Tile for Google Chrome and when I click on it I was hoping just Google Chrome will launch. Instead when I click on Chrome tile I get the desktop as if I have Windows 7 then Chrome launches. This takes up a lot of unnecessary time. Any help greatly appreciated.

There is a particular prompt that needs addressing before you get chrome in metro. Open Internet options and make IE the default browser again. Once you've done that click on chrome and open the settings panel. Scroll down to near the bottom and hit the 'make google chrome my default browser' and you'll see a prompt open up on the screen. This relates to metro so make sure you hit chrome.
