Windows 7 Closed lid craches

I have A HP Compaq 6270 laptop,I've just installed Windows 7(32 bit).Few problem have been occuring 1)All games are being run on 16 bit thus ruining the graphics.2) When i close the lid and open it the screen flashes 2 or 3 times and os carshes showing BSOD.These problems never occured in vista .Please help!

Do you have bsod's ONLY on closing lid or other occasions as well?

Ensure there is enough hard disk space and update your notebook drivers.

It might be helpful reading the crashes info located at C:\Windows\Minidump.
