I have switched to Windows 7 from XP. When sending a fax using Fax and Scan, I would expect the default dialing rule to be "My Location" but it is "(None)". Is there a way to change the default dialing rule? I only have one.

When sending a fax using Windows Fax and Scan in Windows 7, the default dialing rule should ideally be set to "My Location." If you are facing an issue where the default dialing rule is set to "(None)" instead of "My Location," you can follow these steps to change the default dialing rule: 1. Access Windows Fax and Scan Settings: - Open the Start Menu and type "Fax" in the search box. - Select Windows Fax and Scan from the search results. 2. Change Default Dialing Rule: - In the Fax and Scan window, click on the Tools menu at the top. - Select Fax Settings from the drop-down menu. - In the Fax Settings window, click on the General tab. 3. Set the Default Dialing Rule: - Look for the option related to default dialing rules. - You should see a list of available dialing rules. If there is only one rule, you can set it as the default. 4. Choose "My Location" as Default: - Check the list of dialing rules and find the one that represents "My Location." - Select this rule and set it as the default dialing rule for your setup. 5. Save Changes: - After choosing the correct dialing rule, save the changes by clicking on OK or Apply in the Fax Settings window. By following these steps, you should be able to change the default dialing rule in Windows Fax and Scan from "(None)" to "My Location." This adjustment will ensure that the correct rule is applied when sending faxes. If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, feel free to ask!
