An image from 'Customise the task bar in WX'. Windows taskbar system icons visible, with settings menus for customizing and toggling their display.

these settings are what appears on the bottom right hand side of a default WX screen.
  • right click a blank part of the bottom task bar and pick "properties"

Are you talking about the extra "more icons" at the end of the bar?
An image from 'Customise the task bar in WX'. The first image shows the taskbar with the notification area expanded, and the second shows the settings to always show all icons in the taskbar notification area enabled.

If so you can remove it by going into "select which icons appear on the task bar" and turn "always show all icon in the notification area" to the "on"

And of course you can drag icons from the ^ too like always.
