Solution
It seems like you are facing connectivity issues with your BHD server on Windows 7 when attempting to play in LAN mode. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

Verify Network Settings:

  1. IP Configuration: Ensure that all devices connected to the ad hoc network have IP addresses within the same range. Check the IP addresses of the server and the devices trying to connect.
  2. Subnet Mask: Confirm that all devices have the same subnet mask configured.
  3. Gateway and DNS: In a basic LAN setup, the gateway and DNS settings may not be necessary, but double-check that they are not causing any conflicts.

    Firewall and Antivirus:

  4. Firewall Settings: Check the Windows Firewall settings on the server. Make sure that the necessary ports for the game server are open.
  5. Antivirus Software: Temporarily disable any antivirus software that might be blocking the connection.

    Game Server Configuration:

  6. Server Configurations: Verify that the BHD server is correctly configured to broadcast its presence on the LAN.
  7. Port Forwarding: If required, set up port forwarding for the game server ports on your router to ensure that external connections can reach the server.

    Network Troubleshooting:

  8. Network Discovery: Ensure that network discovery is enabled on the Windows 7 machine hosting the server.
  9. Network Sharing: Check if network sharing settings are configured properly to allow devices to communicate.

    Other Considerations:

  10. Network Cable vs. Wireless: If possible, try connecting the server directly to the network via a cable to rule out any wireless issues.
  11. Restart Devices: Sometimes, a simple restart of the server, client devices, and the router can resolve connectivity problems.
By following these steps, you can diagnose the issue and hopefully get your BHD server up and running for LAN play. If you continue to experience problems, feel free to provide more details for further assistance.
