Destination/Source path too long- try by shortening

Dear Geeks,

We are facing the "Destination/ Source path too long - try by shortening the name ".

Some times users are unable to access the files on file server because of path too long.

So what is solution for this without shortening the names ?

Do you have a share setup to access the folder where the docs are stored on the file server? Have you mapped a drive to point to that share?

Yes in the file server we have shared the folders and users have access to those ,but not mapped any drive for any folder.

For Path too long error I use "Long Path Tool" for easy fix.

So the file path is longer than 256 characters... what server is this?

Thanks for you suggesting & posting here about "Long Path Tool". i fixed my lengthy file name more than 3000 files . using this tools.

I am using a software called Long Path Tool and it is working like charm, i have no problems in copying,deleting or extracting anything anywhere.

Long path error!
"Long path tool" is very helpful for this problem. You can solve this
problem like copy, delete, long path files by using this tool. I used to have similar problems too, but after using "long path tool" everything was solved.
