When I look at the auto-start list then I found an entry for edge browser

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe" --type=service /prefetch8

Furthermore "Meet Now" icon appears in Systray.

How can I disable auto-start of the two programs?

Is it necessary to uninstall them or is only disabling auto-start possible?

If I manage to disable them: Are there any negative side effects on the working of Win10?

My favorite default browser is Firefox and already installed

Modern apps Edge included will suspend and take virtual no resources, so there is no real impact to leaving it. "Meet Now" is likely some meeting app like zoom or gotomeeting etc. You can disable them in the task manager. Turning that off won't impact much either. The application will just need to load when you start a meeting.

Meet Now is a MS thing. It's apart of Skype to compete with Zoom and others that are free. So if you have skype running so is meet now. Close Skype and meet now goes away. Meet Now is not in task manager as it's apart of Skype.

NOTE: OP, go into Windows settings, privacy and turn off all back ground apps, except "Settings" and "Windows Security".
