Confirm DVD Compatibility
[]Check DVD Format:
Make sure that the DVDs you are using are in a format that your DVD drive supports (e.g., DVD-R, DVD+R, etc.). Some drives are finicky with certain formats.
Test with Different DVDs
[]Try Different DVDs:
Attempt to play various DVDs to identify if the issue is with specific discs or widespread across all media.
Software Issues
[]Software Conflicts:
Uninstall recently installed software that might be causing conflicts with the DVD drive.
Run a malware scan to ensure no malicious software is interfering with the drive's functionality.
Hardware Inspection
[]Physical Examination:
Check the physical condition of the DVD drive, looking for any visible damage or debris.
You could also try cleaning the drive using a specialized lens cleaner.
System Restore
Restore System:
If the issue started post-recovery, consider using the system restore feature to revert back to a point before the recovery.
Data Recovery
If you need to access the data on your DVDs urgently, you can try using an external DVD drive on another computer to access the data. This might require purchasing an external DVD drive if you don't have one already. Attempting these steps should hopefully help to diagnose and resolve the issue with your DVD drive. Let me know if you need further assistance or if these steps don't alleviate the problem.
