I recently had some bad sectors on my hard drive, and corrupted my Vista which made me install windows 7.
I had installed Windows 7 by booting to disk.
After I installed Windows 7 I noiced my DVD RW does not appear when I log into Windows,
although I can still boot up to cds... just wonering why is this.
P.S. I just installed WIndows 7 and i think some of my VISTA files have not been delelted as I have 90 gigs of data used when I did not install / ahve that much data and i have deleted my "Windows.old" and I know that I have no files left from my old intallation.

Thanks a lot guys,
Anshul

Anshul,

Hello and welcome to the windows7forums,

Try going to Start > Run, and type diskmgmt.msc.

Now look over the entries and see if your DVD drive is assigned a drive letter.
