Hello there, First of all i would like to congratulate the microsoft team on an excellent OS.
I have only encountered one problem at the minute...its a very irritating problem though.
Im using windows 7 64bit, and when i first installed it i could use aero peek an see all my webpages etc clearly.
When i installed the ati catalyst 9.7 and 9.8 drivers, everytime my mouse goes over one of the minimized programs, such as internet explorer...steam etc it comes up with "explorer.exe has crashed" here is the signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: explorer.exe Application Version: 6.1.7600.16385 Application Timestamp: 4a5bc9bb Fault Module Name: explorer.exe Fault Module Version: 6.1.7600.16385 Fault Module Timestamp: 4a5bc9bb Exception Code: c000041d Exception Offset: 00000000000ac00b OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1 Locale ID: 2057 Additional Information 1: bb7c Additional Information 2: bb7c32efd22d422293c04ec1f6e70668 Additional Information 3: e077 Additional Information 4: e0773311dc1b380a846bd62d3b89047d
It works if i disable the "enable desktop composition" in visual effects...but it looks plain and dull Any advice???
Thanks for the reply.
I uninstalled ccc but the problem remains, i have only tried 9.7 and 9.8...i dont really want to try old drivers as its a gaming pc....but i will try catalyst 9.4 and see if the problem persists.
Often times ATI drivers can be a problem if the old driver isn't removed give this a try:
Uninstall the drivers for your graphics card through device manager, uninstall CCC through programs and features.
After doing this run this application Guru3D - Driver Sweeper ticking all references to ATI/Radeon graphics.. After this is done re download and install the updated drivers.
good luck
