Hi ;)

I'm trying to install W7 on my laptop but I have a problem.

I had vista on it, I started the installation going on the iso and clicking on Setup.

All went fine, I selected an empty partition of 40go.

It installs and at the final step : Completing installation, nothing happens. It stays on this step.

I tryed booting it from an USB disk, same happened.

I formated the main partition trying to install 7 on it, same.

Computed spec :

It's a laptop, Intel Centrino 1.4Ghz, 2go ram, 128 mo geforce

I wondered if I needed to install vista in English and then make an update ?

Thanks for help

To address the issue with completing the Windows 7 installation freezing at the final step on your laptop, follow these steps: 1. Update BIOS: - Check if there are any BIOS updates available for your laptop. Updating the BIOS can sometimes resolve installation issues. 2. Disconnect External Devices: - Disconnect any external devices like USB drives, printers, or other peripherals during the installation process. 3. Check System Requirements: - Ensure that your laptop meets the minimum system requirements for Windows 7, especially the available storage space. Windows 7 requires at least 16 GB of free space for 32-bit and 20 GB for 64-bit. 4. Remove Additional RAM: - If you have added extra RAM, try installing Windows 7 with only 1 GB of RAM to see if a RAM incompatibility is causing the freeze. 5. Boot in Safe Mode: - During the installation, try booting in Safe Mode to see if it progresses properly. Press F8 repeatedly during startup to access the Advanced Boot Options menu. 6. Clean Install: - To rule out any conflicts with Vista, perform a clean install by formatting the entire disk before installing Windows 7. 7. Install in English: - While the language shouldn't typically pose an issue, installing Windows 7 directly shouldn't require a prior Vista installation in English. It's designed to be a standalone installation. 8. Additional Troubleshooting: - Check for any error messages during the installation process and note them down for further analysis. - Ensure the installation media is error-free by checking for scratches or corruption. By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot the freezing issue during the Windows 7 installation on your laptop.
