At least once a day, my wireless router connection gets very weak on my laptop and I lose my Internet access. I also have a netbook on the home network and it always has a great connection. In order to fix the problem, I have to disable my connection -then re-enable it. After that, it runs fine for quite a while. This seemed to start happening right after I reset my LinksysCisco router to its' default factory settings. My router is: Model: WRT160N v2. I ran the diagnostics this time it happened and the message I got was: "The VirtualBox Host-Only Network adapter is disabled." I don't know what this means. Can someone help me?

It seems like you are facing connectivity issues with your wireless connection on your laptop, which coincidentally started after you reset your Linksys Cisco router to its default factory settings. The message you received about the VirtualBox Host-Only Network adapter being disabled is likely related to VirtualBox, a software used for virtualization, and might not be directly causing the issue with your wireless connection. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the weak wireless connection issue on your laptop: 1. Check Wireless Signal Strength: - Ensure that your laptop is within the range of the wireless router and not experiencing interference from other devices or obstacles. - Check the...

- Check the signal strength of your wireless connection on your laptop to see if it is weak. 2. Update Network Adapter Drivers: - Make sure that the network adapter drivers on your laptop are up to date. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause connectivity issues. 3. Change Wireless Channel: - In your router settings, try changing the wireless channel to see if it improves the connection stability. This can help reduce interference from other wireless networks in the area. 4. Check for Firmware Updates: - Ensure that your LinksysCisco router's firmware is up to date. Manufacturers often release firmware updates to address performance and connectivity issues. 5. Disable IPv6: - Sometimes, disabling IPv6 on your network adapter settings can help with connectivity problems. You can do this through the network adapter properties on your laptop. 6. Reset TCP/IP Stack: - Resetting the TCP/IP stack on your laptop can also help in resolving network connection issues. 7. Check Power Management Settings: - Make sure that power-saving settings on your laptop's network adapter are not affecting the connection. Disable any power-saving modes that may be causing the adapter to sleep. 8. Investigate Router Settings: - Check the router settings for any specific configurations that might be impacting the wireless connection to your laptop. 9. Contact Linksys Support: - If the issue persists, consider reaching out to Linksys support for further assistance with troubleshooting the router and network settings. Try these steps to see if they help improve the stability of your wireless connection on your laptop. If the issue persists, feel free to provide more details for further assistance.
